The Xblitz brand offers two basic types of breathalyser: solid-state and electrochemical. The former (such as the Unlimited or Spirit models) offer great value for money. For just over £100 you can have a cheap and proven breathalyser. On the other hand, electrochemical models (e.g. Hero or Alcontrol Ultra) are characterised by greater precision – they have much more advanced sensors, which also translates into the price of the product.
If you’re after a budget breathalyser, it’s worth opting for a solid-state model, such as the Xblitz Spirit or Unlimited. They are perfect for testing the level of alcohol once in a while. If, on the other hand, you plan to regularly check your breath alcohol level or run a company that employs drivers, it’s worth opting for an electrochemical breathalyser (such as the Xblitz Ether).
The breathalyser is powered by alkaline batteries – usually classic sticks – so you can easily and quickly replace your old batteries with new ones.
